BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider (Level C) CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is designed for healthcare providers and first responders with a duty to respond to cardiac emergencies. Learners will be taught skills related to one and two-rescuer adult, child and infant CPR, coping with obstructed airways, the use of a bag valve mask (BVM), and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Basic Life Support is an important step in the survival of a person who suffers a cardiac arrest incident.  BLS education helps individuals gain confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills and provides them with the important steps to:

  • Perform a rapid assessment
  • Initiate the emergency response system
  • Perform BLS skills
  • Perform rapid defibrillation
